The twin and twisted skyscrapers in Ayia Napa are two of the highest builings in the island and were included in the list of 32 most unusual and difficult buildings in the world in terms of implementation. They represents the most spectacular part of the whole project of Ayia Napa Marina.

It is remarkable that the two towers were designed to have a rotation so that all apartments overlook the sea and the marina. Two spinning skyscrapers rise 100 meters into the sky, rotating one and a half degrees on each next floor, as planned. All apartments have amazing sea views thanks to this rotating architecture. The T-shaped twin towers impress with their graceful and sumptuous beauty.

The West Tower is tucked away in a tranquil, more residential area of the development. The East Tower is located at the commercial hub of the marina offering a vibrant and bustling environment for residents and guests.

West Tower

The 125 apartments are specially structured to guarantee that all living spaces, including bedrooms, are oriented toward the water and beaches, while the concept of modern, open plan designs maximizes daylight and views, taking full advantage of one of the most magnificent stretches of Mediterranean coastline. The apartments range in size from one to six bedrooms, with a full-floor seven-bedroom penthouse on the top floor offering 360-degree panoramic views. The three radiused-end apartments offer 180-degree vistas to their residents. Landscaped gardens and lawns, cabanas, a safe children's play area, day-care facilities, and two different pools, one of which is specifically designed for families, are all available on the private amenities deck.

East Tower

Its enormous foyer features a 12-meter-high undulating sculptural ceiling and an all-glass outside curtain wall with structural glass mullions. All living spaces, including bedrooms, are oriented toward the water and beaches, with modern, open-plan designs optimizing daylight and vistas. Full-height glass doors in the living rooms open wide to bring the living area out onto the covered veranda. The apartments range in size from one to four bedrooms, with full-floor penthouse units on the top two floors offering 360-degree panoramic views. The three radiused-end apartments offer 180-degree vistas to their residents. Just a few steps away from their front door, the residents can enjoy the tower’s wide range of services and facilities.

The Two Families Behind the Project

Such a grandiose project could not have been the work of an ordinary person. Behind the design as well as the implementation of this majestic project of the marina and the twin towers are two very well-established families. It is essentially a Cypriot (Caramondanis) and an Egyptian (Sawiris) family, who decided to combine both their resources and their ambitions to carry out this project. In particular, the Cypriot businessman Gerasimos Caramondanis the founder of Caramondani Group, and the Egyptian investor Naguib Sawiris are the two partners who made possible the implementation of such an incredible project. Talking about the key persons and the team of Ayia Napa Marina, it's important to mention that Stavros Caramondanis is the CEO and Naguib Sawiris is the Chairman of Ayia Napa Marina.

Caramondani Group

After the 1974 Turkish invasion, the Group is proud to have contributed to the development of the island's infrastructure as well as the rebuilding and expansion of its economy by equipping efficiently engineered hotels, hospitals, stadiums, sewage treatment plants, irrigation networks, pumping stations, dams, airports, ports, power stations, HV switch yards, cement factories, and many other projects, including the Republic of Cyprus' first seawater desalination plant.

All of this has resulted in tremendous know-how and expertise, allowing the Group to deliver on its promise: 'You can depend on it.' Caramondani Group of Companies is a multidisciplinary organization that originated from Caramondani Bros, which was founded in Famagusta in 1959 and is currently Cyprus' largest electrical and mechanical engineering contracting firm.

The Group currently consists of 14 companies with offices around the island and also in Athens (Greece), Fano (Italy), Morocco, M.E. area office in Amman Jordan (temporarily closed 2013) covering Osmo Sistemi’s desalination business and as of 2007 a new office in Nigbo China for the commercial activities of the group. Ten of these companies are involved in a wide range of businesses including Electrical and Mechanical Contracting, Refrigeration, Public Health, Steel Construction, and Erection, Trading, Consultancy Services, Boat and Car Parks, etc.

Caramondani Group employs over 200 engineers, technicians, skilled workers, salespersons, and administrative staff. It represents and/or works with over 130 suppliers from around the world and invites other companies interested in collaborating in any of the above and other disciplines, to contact its offices.

Naguib Sawiris

Naguib Sawiris is an Egyptian billionaire businessman and investor. He is married and has four children. He lives in Cairo and he speaks Arabic, English, German and French.

He has been described as one of his generation's most powerful corporate leaders. His vision and intuition have helped develop a number of world-class enterprises, and he is widely renowned for his work in the telecoms sector. From founding Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH), which he sold to VEON to create the world's sixth-largest telecoms company, to leading market-changing enterprises in the financial services, energy, agri-industries, logistics, and real estate sectors, he has played a key role.

As of 2021, Sawiris was listed in Forbes magazine as the 8th richest person in Africa, with a personal wealth of $3.2 billion. Mr. Sawiris has also received numerous honorary degrees, industry awards, and civic accolades, including the coveted 'Sitara-e-Quaid-e-Azam' award in Pakistan and the 'Legion d'Honneur' in France.

It is quite interesting to say that Naguib Sawiris is not the only tycoon in his family. He has two brothers who are also billionaires. Nassef Sawiris and Samih Sawiris, are the two brothers of Naguib, and all three brothers follow their father's business and investment footsteps.

Onsi Sawiris, the father of the three brothers, was also a successful businessman. He was the patriarchal head of the Sawiris family and founder of the Orascom Group. In 2008, Forbes estimated the family's net worth at $36 billion, and that shows that the Sawiris family is indisputable, one of the most powerful families in the whole world.

Ayia Napa Marina

Ayia Napa is without any doubt a very promising city. And this is not at all an exaggeration if one sees the marina that is implemented in the area. The southeast coast of Cyprus recently witnessed the start of construction works for one of the largest infrastructure projects on the island, the Ayia Napa Marina.

The Marina of Ayia Napa, the jewel resort of the eastern Mediterranean, will soon be a reference point in the city but also a reference point for the whole island. This marina, according to the plans but also based on its capabilities, is destined in the near future to become the new premier yachting destination not only in the Mediterranean but in the whole world.

Ayia Napa Marina was Cyprus's largest private project at the time, costing €250 million and and is expected to be completed very soon. The principal investor is Egyptian billionaire Naguib Sawiris, who was honored at the foundation ceremony by Mayor Yiannis Karousos with a golden key to the city.

The Ayia Napa Marina is implemented to enhance the whole berthing experience by providing top services and world-class sailing facilities with a really spectacular Mediterranean view. It's a brand-new premium yachting location, ready to meet the high expectations of foreign guests. The fairytale position and incredible unique infrastructure are elegantly blended with the meticulously designed dock architecture and high-end amenities, all of which come together in a secure atmosphere to offer maximum safety, comfort, and convenience, even to the most demanding customer.

Apart from the exceptional location, facilities, and services, what sets this Luxury Marina in Cyprus apart is its finger-type berthing for yachts up to 30m, as well as its floating docks, which provide pleasant access in all weather conditions. It is now considered a given even for the most skeptics that the marina of Ayia Napa will be a catalyst for the future of the tourist product of Cyprus.

The Coffee Berry cafe, the Riva Beachouse restaurant, and the particularly created Crew Lounge area for boat crews are now open to visitors to the marina. Furthermore, an Alfamega store has opened in the marina.
